4. Codes and Standards

The cables shall conform to the latest issue (including amendments) of the relevant IEC regulations including

harmonized documents (e.g. HD603) in particular with:

Israeli Law and Legal Regulations and Standards,

SI 1516-1 Israel Standard SI 1516 Part 1

IEC 60502-1 Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories – Part 1 (1kV and 3kV)

IEC 60502-2 Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories – Part 2 (6kV up to 30kV)

IEC 60332-1 Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable

IEC 60332-3-24 Tests on electric cables under fire conditions – Part 3-24, Cat. C

IEC 60227 Polyvinyl chloride insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V

IEC 60245 Rubber insulated cables – Rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V

5. MV Power Cables, Single Core

Application: MV-cables will be used in three-phase 11,5kV (Um = 17,5kV) systems, 50Hz, low resistance grounded system.

Reference Standard: According HD620-S2 based on IEC 60502-2

Conductor:

- plain annealed copper wires for phase, neutral and PE conductors

- for cross sections <16mm² stranded copper conductors, round shape

- for cross sections 16mm² stranded copper conductors, round shape

- for cross sections >16mm² stranded copper conductors, round or sector shape

- for cross sections ≥25mm² 3½ & 4½ conductor cross sections are applied (½ conductor for PE/N)

Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE

Filler: non-hygroscopic compound filler

Bedding and outer sheath:

- PVC

- colour: green (acc. Israeli Standard SI 1516-1 for XLPE insulated cores)

- fire retardant jacketing

- resistance to ultra violet radiation

- Metallic Screen for X-2XCY shall be Copper-Tape applied as closed helix

(Copper-Foile with overlap and annealed copper wires)

- Rubber insulated LV power cables might be also used.

Marking on outer sheath: Meter marking, manufacturer, cable type & voltage,cross-section, year of manufacture, manufacturing standard.

Anti termite repellent: None

Armouring / rodent resistance: None

Stripping insulation: Easily strippable cable insulation must be ensured under normal conditions.

 

8. LV Control Cables

Application: LV control cables will be used in single-phase 230V (Um = 1,2kV) , 50Hz, grounded neutral system with protective conductor (TNS); for secondary CT/VT-circuits and as DC cables.

Reference standard: HD603-S1 based on IEC 60502-1

Conductor:

- plain annealed copper wires for phase and neutral conductors with a minimum cross section of 1.5mm²

- metering cables with a minimum cross section of 6mm² for CT’s and 4mm² for VT’s

- “concentric conductor” (PE) of copper wires and/or flat copper tape

- stranded copper conductors, round shape

Insulation: PVC or Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE

Bedding and outer sheath:

- PVC

- colour: black (acc. Israeli Standard SI 1516-1 for PVC insulated cores)

- colour: green (acc. Israeli Standard SI 1516-1 for XLPE insulated cores)

- resistance to ultra violet radiation

Marking on outer sheath: Meter marking, manufacturer, cable type & voltage,cross-section, year of manufacture, manufacturing standard

Anti termite repellent: None

9. Frequency Converter Cables, Multi-Core (if applicable)

Application: LV-cables will be used in three-phase 690/400V (Um = 1,2kV), 50Hz, grounded neutral system with protective conductor (TNS).

Reference standard: HD603-S1 based on IEC 60502-1
